Reduce your Cancer Risk
Reduce Your Cancer Risk : Twelve Steps to a Healthier Life suggests ways to reduce your cancer risks, with a large portion relating to breast cancer. It covers everything from family history of cancer, preventative measures, such as protecting yourself against skin cancer, strategies regarding physical activity, nutrition and avoiding obesity. The authors talk about screening for cancer, which tests are best, the environment, chemicals, pollution and toxins in everyday products. They also discuss measures you can take for good health if you’ve already had cancer. I would recommend this book because it was very easy to read and understand, and its writing was motivated by a family history of breast cancer and a search for answers and direction. While there are some references to the USA, it can be applied to everyone.

The Breast Cancer Companion
This book is a guide for the newly diagnosed, and provides help for patients by giving a step-by-step guide on how to proceed after the initial diagnosis. It will help people organize information, provide checklists and tips, and has a great glossary of terms for all the new terminology. While this book was written for American patients and contains a lot of USA references, it is very well written; the majority of the material can be applied worldwide. The writing style is easy to understand and is easy to follow.
